A self portrait done as part of the "Past Lives" challenge on Pixelbrush, the brief here was to create a portrait of yourself from a bygone era, be it egyptian or 1920s gangster.

I originally had two options of Geisha and Native American Indian, and went with the latter as I felt more of a connection to the Indian's beliefs with nature and their simpler existence. I'm also a big fan of Disney's pocahontas, despite its gross historical inaccuracies.

In day to day life I wear many faces, but in my solitary moments, when I can switch off all those other personalities in me, this is who I feel I am. Just a girl with the colours of the wind in her hair.

All in all it was completed in under two weeks around other projects and work, somewhere around 20-25 hours work.
